San Salvador è una piccola isola al centro delle Bahamas. E' sul lato est, e si affaccia sull'Oceano Atlantico, garantendo un ottimo diving. Nei mesi invernali, con acqua più fredda, sono frequenti gli incontri con squali martello. Le due più note sistemazioni sono il Club Med (Columbus Isle) e il Riding Rock Inn Resort. | San Salvador is a small island in the middle of Bahamas. It's on the East side, facing the Atlantic Ocean, thus good diving is guaranteed. In winter time, with colder water, encounters with hammerheads are common. The two most known accommodations are Club Med (Columbus Isle) and Riding Rock Inn Resort. |

San Salvador ha un piccolo aeroporto ed è collegata con voli giornalieri a Miami via Nassau. Per chi proviene dall'Europa è inevitabile un pernottamento a Miami o a Nassau. | San Salvador has a little airport with daily flights to Miami, via Nassau. For people arriving from Europe is inevitable a night stop in Miami or Nassau. |
Diving |
Quasi tutte le immersioni si fanno in pareti spettacolari, con canyons e tunnels. Le pareti più belle sono sul lato sud ed est, ma non sempre le condizioni del mare ne consentono l'accesso. Ci sono stato due volte: la prima, in estate, mi si è allagata la Nikonos alla prima immersione (!!!), la seconda volta, in inverno, mi sono fermato solo quattro giorni, ma ho fatto in tempo a vedere tre squali martello. Ho fatto più di 30 immersioni sempre con buona visibilità e tutte interessanti. La temperatura dell'acqua in Dicembre è di 26°C, in Agosto di 29°C. | Dives are normally made along beautiful walls, with canyons and tunnels. The best walls are in the South and East side, but not always they are accessible, depending on the sea condition. I've been there twice: the first time, in summer, I've got my Nikonos flooded on the first dive (!!!), the second time, in winter, I made a short stop of four days, enough to see three hammerheads. I made more than 30 dives all interesting and with good visibility. Water temperature, in December, was 79°F, in August 84°F. |
